NEW DELHI: In a bid to facilitate easy movement of both passenger and goods vehicles across the Saarc countries with a single permit, member countries are likely to finalise the draft terms and conditions in the next two days. However, what may come as a setback to this endeavour is the absence of any representative from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Maldives to the summit, which is being held at Neemrana in Rajasthan.
Sources said while the first two countries had earlier communicated their inability to send representatives, Dhaka joined the list lately. Bangladesh has informed that no representative could be sent because of some unavoidable reason. Pakistan and Bangladesh are the two crucial countries for India to promote road transport across the sub-region.
